5587 - Sachtler flowtech 100mm carbon fiber tripod (ground star)

The Sachtler flowtech 100 carbon fiber tripod with ground retractor avoids the common single or double carbon fiber tube design; instead it redesigned the shape of the legs for better torsional resistance. The legs weigh 8.8 lbs, but can support a payload of up to 66 lbs and extend from a minimum height of 16.9 "to a maximum height of 62.6" when using the included detachable ground stabilizer . Each leg has a single locking lever that locks and unlocks the sections.

Each leg extends or retracts independently of the other two, and when detached from the spreader each leg can rotate without affecting the other legs. This is especially useful when working on rough or uneven terrain. You can completely remove the spreader and lock each leg in one of three positions, so you can work without the spreader if you wish. This allows the legs to be spread extremely wide for low shooting, while the tripod legs retain their torsional stability. Split ends at the end of each leg provide extra grip when working on softer ground.

The design and construction of the legs offer incredible torsional stability. In other words, the legs resist twisting when moving the tripod head.
Each leg features a unique locking lever lock design at the top of the leg, near the 100mm tub. This allows you to loosen all three leg sections from one position, saving time and reducing wear and tear on your body since you don't have to bend over to loosen a stopper at the bottom to lower or raise your legs.
The legs incorporate a locking mechanism that allows the legs to move freely to work with a spreader or to lock into one of three corners when working without a spreader.
With the spreader, the height range is from 16.9 to 62.6 ". However, if you remove the spreader on the ground and use the integrated locking mechanism, the usable height range is 10. 2 and 60.2 ".
